Industrial AI and Asset Management

Contract education

This course is designed to introduce participants to the concepts of industrial AI, eMaintenance and the application of data-driven approaches to decision making for the rail, mining, aerospace, construction, process and manufacturing industries. The course will also have an implementation part where participants will get hands-on experience with various devices, such as Spot, robots, drones, 3D scanners, VR/AR and BCI devices. This is a problem-based course specific to industry sectors. The problems can be provided by the course supervisor or the students can bring their own problems from their work. Common problems include e.g. asset management by balancing cost against performance, identifying, detecting, predicting, and planning for unexpected outages, disruptions or failures, exploring challenges and opportunities with AI and digitization, monitoring the condition of industrial assets, and achieving sustainability goals.
